Joining a social sports league as an adult can be daunting. We’ve spoken to our players across the country to find out if they had any initial worries before joining one of our leagues, in the hope to encourage other women who are interested in joining to have the confidence to take up, or play hockey again.
“I’m Too Unfit!”
The first hurdle that often worries women before joining one of our hockey leagues is the belief that they are not fit enough. We believe that as long as you love playing the game, that’s all the matters! Our leagues are designed to be fun and friendly, and cater to players of all fitness levels. So, even if you don’t know anyone when you start, you’ll soon have a supportive network of friends who share your love for the game!

We encourage women of all ages to take up hockey. Age is just a number, and it should never be a barrier to pursuing your interests, especially when it comes to sports! Our leagues are home to players of various age groups, proving that it’s never too late to pick up your stick again, or for the first time! Whether you’re in your twenties or your eighties, you’re welcome to join us on the field. Hockey is about passion, friendship, and enjoying the game, regardless of your age!
“I’ve Not Played for Years”
Life often gets in the way, and sometimes, our beloved sports take a backseat. If you haven’t played hockey in years and worry about your rusty skills, rest assured that everybody is welcome, regardless of their skill level or experience!
