Play Hockey Pregnancy Policy
Our Pregnancy Policy
At Play Hockey, the health and safety of our players is our top priority. We aim to provide a safe, enjoyable and supportive environment for all participants. To ensure the safety of both the expectant mother and the other players on the pitch, we have established a specific Hockey Pregnancy Policy for participation during pregnancy.
As we are not associated with England Hockey we have our own rules and policies in place to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all our players on pitch.
Due to the contact nature of the sport, we strongly encourage women not to play Hockey whilst they are pregnant. Players who are over 12 weeks pregnant are unable to continue playing in our leagues until they are ready to return, post-pregnancy.
We understand the importance of maintaining your position within your team, so we will ensure that players have the option to return to their team, post-pregnancy, without any hassle & without any charge during your time off.
Returning to exercise post-pregnancy offers numerous benefits, both physical and mental. Playing Hockey might be the last thing on your mind after giving birth, but you can be assured that your position is secure for you, whenever you’re ready to return and need some important ‘me-time’!
Within our Play Hockey Pregnancy Policy, it is essential to inform Play Hockey as soon as you know you are pregnant, or if you know somebody is still playing after 12 weeks’ gestation.
We look forward to welcoming our players back to the pitch when they are ready, and in the meantime, we wish them a healthy and happy pregnancy.
